A few days ago, Argentine side Independiente landed on the moon to present their home jersey for the 2023-24 season. The photos and videos are out there and don’t leave any room to say it’s a hoax.

Jokes aside, Los Diablos introduced their new shirt remembering the day they made NASA astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins honorary fans of the team before their historic trip to the moon in 1969.
Independiente Jersey 2023-24
In the past, Independiente always had some white or blue splashes on their design. For this campaign, however, Puma presented them with a full-on red shirt.
And while it’s simple, the tone of red chosen is striking.
The jersey has a polo-style neck, while the back features a banner that ties to the urban legend that Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins brought Independiente’s flag as a good luck charm aboard Apollo 11 on the day they took one of the biggest steps for humankind
It’s not bad, but we wished they played a bit more with the lunar theme. Alas!
